Four Counties in Alabama Have More Registered Voters than Adult Residents || Christine Rousselle

Four counties in Alabama have more registered and active voters than the number of voting-age adults in the county. An active voter means the person has voted within the last four years.

As of March, Greene, Hale, Lowndes and Macon counties had more active, registered voters than what the census estimated as their 18-and-older population in 2012.

Dem Sen accuses CIA of snooping on Congress; White House ducks queries || By Stephen Dinan

In a stunning public accusation Tuesday, the chairwoman of the Senate intelligence committee said the CIA snooped through congressional computers and is trying to intimidate Congress into backing off a report looking into charges of torture during terrorist-linked interrogations.

The accusation by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, California Democrat, escalated what had been a simmering dispute into a full-blown constitutional battle.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle backed Mrs. Feinstein and said that having an executive agency — the CIA in particular — breaking into congressional computers is a major breach of trust and could result in criminal charges.

The accusations had shades of Cold War intrigue, and many Republicans rallied to Mrs. Feinstein’s defense, saying major separation-of-powers issues were at stake in the CIA’s snooping.

The White House, meanwhile, tried to duck questions about the matter by saying it would await an internal CIA auditor’s report.

Gun Owners Prepare to Seize Senate from Harry Reid ||Written by Gun Owners | Courtesy; Gun Owners of

Gun Owners Of America II

At GOA’s request, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has bypassed Harry Reid’s stranglehold on the Senate by bringing a pro-gun bill directly onto the Senate calendar.

The bill is H.R. 4118, and it was approved by the House of Representatives on Wednesday by a 250-160 vote.  (See the vote here, with “Yea” being the pro-gun vote.)  The bill would suspend the individual mandate of the anti-gun ObamaCare program for one year, thus protecting the privacy of gun owners.

Normally, bills that pass out of one chamber are referred to a committee in the other chamber.  But Senator Paul intervened by using a parliamentary technique to bring H.R. 4118 onto the calendar, rather than letting it be referred to a Senate committee.

Now that H.R. 4118 is “on the calendar,” this means that ANY SENATOR can now “move to proceed” to the bill, thereby CIRCUMVENTING HARRY REID’S STRANGLEHOLD over the Senate agenda.

This is huge.

It is important to gun owners because ObamaCare lays the groundwork for taking millions of Americans — those taking anxiety medications or who have PTSD or ADHD — and feeding their names into NICS’s gun-ban database.

It is important because, already, Obama, by executive fiat, has waived federal privacy laws to clear the way for these gun bans.

When settlers came to America they had to struggle from the ground up. There was no existing government with which they had to contend. The only government they had, they brought with them in the form of mutual compacts. This was the miracle of self-governance into which most had been born and had become accustomed until the colonies began to create wealth that inflamed the greed of Britain.

As a means to enrich itself, Britain passed laws against the liberty of the settlers; choosing for itself a larger and larger share of the profits from their labor. It took more than a century for the laws to become so oppressive that the colonists began to resist, eventually throwing off that yoke. Ingrained in the American psyche, however, was the thought that they could govern themselves; that they needed no master from whom to beg privileges. All they needed was the liberty to create and the freedom to dare.

Now, as American sloth and apathy (encouraged by would-be masters) has replaced those noble instincts toward self-government and self-reliance the mechanism of strength and liberty is failing.

Contentions Obama Consciously Engineering America’s Decline || Peter Wehner | Courtesy: Gunny G. Cocked & Locked

In remarks today, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said U.S. global military dominance can “no longer be taken for granted.” He said this even as he was in the process of announcing that the Obama administration plans to shrink the United States Army to its smallest force since before the World War II buildup. (For context, the Army will go from a post-September 11 peak of 570,000 to between 440,000 and 450,000, the smallest Army since 1940.)

Max Boot does an excellent job laying out the problems with this proposal here and here. I’d simply add that the fact that American military dominance can no longer be taken for granted is not problematic for someone of Barack Obama’s worldview. In fact, he views the weakening of American power as a downright positive thing, as a contributor to peace and stability, and a means through which America will be more respected and loved in the world.

Mr. Obama is wrong on every count.

Why are we taking “refugees” from Austria…..

Refugee Resettlement Watch

…..and Turkey, Sweden, France, Malta, Germany, India, Israel, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam among others?

We couldn’t possibly be taking the Pakistanis and Afghanis who have been demanding asylum in Austria by camping out in Catholic Churches? Could we?

Since when do those countries have a war or other disturbance going on that would justify the US taking off their hands THEIR immigrant problems?

Readers, legitimate refugees/asylum seekers are those who leave their country where they are supposedly persecuted and seek asylum in the first safe country in which they land.   There isn’t supposed to be some pass through opportunity to go to America!

Just now I had a look at WRAPSNET (US State Department) where the statistics are kept about which refugees are coming to the US.  Actually at WRAPS there are only a few data bases available to us, the taxpayers, most are…

U.S. Troops Fed Up With Obama’s ROE || by PatriotsBillboard | Courtesy of Neva Grandinetti

Billy & Karen Vaughn 2-11-14   U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan are now forced to fight a two-fronted war. Before each deployment, these soldiers understand fully that day after day they will do battle against relentless terrorists with shifting loyalties and unspeakable hatred. But what none of them could have foreseen was the killing field that would open from their rear: the Continental United States.

Our government’s incessant tightening of already restrictive ROE (Rules of Engagement), compounded by the failed COIN (Counterinsurgency) strategy—also known as “winning hearts and minds”—has made an otherwise primitive enemy
