Conservative Critics of Government Are ‘Freaks’ Who ‘Will Need Kevlar’ || By Mark J. Fitzgibbons

Conservative critics of government are “freaks,” are “in for a pretty rough ride,” and “will need their Kevlar,” i.e., bullet-proof vests.

These statements didn’t come from the Obama administration or some radical leftwing organization.  They are Facebook posts of a Republican elected official in Virginia’s Fauquier County.

Fauquier drew national attention in 2012 for charging farmer Martha Boneta with violating the law by having a birthday party for eight little girls without a permit and zoning site plan.

The highly charged posts of county supervisor Holder Trumbo came shortly after two recent events, and are emblematic of the civil war taking place within the GOP in Virginia and nationally.

Uninsured: Obamacare is Unaffordable || By David Catron

WAX20140306334_md

A new survey confirms that the “Affordable Care Act” has failed to achieve one of its most important goals — making health coverage accessible to the uninsured. As the Washington Post reports, “Just one in 10 uninsured people who qualify for private health plans through the new marketplace have signed up for one.” Why so few? According to the survey, which was released last Thursday by McKinsey & Company, the most common reason cited by uninsured respondents was lack of affordability. Out of five possible reasons for failing to enroll, most chose, “I could not afford to pay the premium.”

The irony of this is mindboggling. For years, the advocates of Obamacare characterized the uninsured problem as a human tragedy that bankrupted millions and killed tens of thousands. The latter claim was injected into the health reform debate by a notoriously disingenuous study whose authors claimed that lack of health coverage caused the untimely demise 45,000 Americans per year. This “research” was debunked by various health policy experts, but that didn’t stop Democrats from quoting it in Congress to show that Republican opposition to Obamacare was tantamount to genocide.

Obama: No, You Can’t Necessarily Keep Your Doctor || by Daniel Doherty

The president made a stunning admission today during his widely-anticipated interview with WebMD — namely, some Americans might have to switch doctors under the “Affordable” Care Act.

But before we get to the clip, let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

“First, no matter what’ve you’ve heard, if you like your doctor — or health care plan — you can keep it.”

Stolen F-35 Secrets Now Showing Up in China’s Stealth Fighter ||by Bill Gertz | COURTESY: Maj Dennis Shea, USAF (Ret) MILINET

A cyber espionage operation by China seven years ago produced sensitive technology and aircraft secrets that were incorporated into the latest version of China’s new J-20 stealth fighter jet, according to U.S. officials and private defense analysts.

The Chinese cyber spying against the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II took place in 2007 under what U.S. intelligence agencies codenamed Operation Byzantine Hades, a large-scale, multi-year cyber program that targeted governments and industry.

Defense officials said the stolen data was obtained by a Chinese military unit called a Technical Reconnaissance Bureau in the Chengdu province. The data was then passed to the state-run Aviation Industry Corp. of China (AVIC).

An AVIC subsidiary, the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group, used the stolen data in building the J-20, said defense and intelligence officials familiar with reports of the illicit tech transfer.

Pentagon technology security officials in 2011 opposed a joint venture between General Electric and AVIC over concerns that U.S. fighter jet technology would be diverted to AVIC’s military aircraft programs. The Obama administration ignored the concerns and instead has since promoted the systematic loosening of technology controls on transfers to China…

White House told of CIA move against Senate aides || By DAVID ESPO and JULIE PACE

Capturey444

WASHINGTON (AP) — The CIA’s director and its top lawyer told White House attorneys in advance about their plans to file an official criminal complaint accusing Senate Intelligence Committee aides of improperly obtaining secret agency documents, the White House confirmed Wednesday.

Lawyers in the White House counsel’s office did not approve the CIA’s move to refer its complaint to the Justice Department or provide any advice to the agency, presidential spokesman Jay Carney said.

“There was no comment, there was no weighing in, there was no judgment,” Carney said, citing protocol not to interfere in the ongoing inquiries into the matter by the FBI and the CIA’s inspector general.

Carney did not say whether President Barack Obama was directly aware of the decision. “The president has been aware in general about the protocols and the discussions and occasional disputes involved,” he said.

Obama avoided commenting on his involvement in the dispute at the end of a meeting Wednesday with female Democratic lawmakers on women’s economic issues. He added that “with respect to the issues that are going back and forth between the Senate committee and the CIA, (CIA Director) John Brennan has referred them to the appropriate authorities. And they are looking into it. And that’s not something that is an appropriate role for me and the White House to weigh into at this point.”

Bolting De Blasio: The Exodus Begins || by Pamela Geller

unnamed

And so it begins: De Blasio’s war on the producers has triggered a mass exodus form the city. 5,000 very wealthy families paid 30 percent of the city’s income tax. Losing even a few of them means significantly less money for filling potholes and hiring cops. That’s who this clown is attacking?

De Blasio is making good on his campaign platform — destroying the producer and greasing the grubby hooves of the moochers and the looters. Revenge of the loser.

But it’s not just the wealthy. Yesterday, I posted on the latest attack by Red Bill, closing the best-performing charter schools in the city as payback to the teacher’s union. Targeting the poor for his sleazy backroom deals.

Props to Governor Andrew Cuomo and Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos, who today came to the rescue of these poor families by promising to step in to pay the rent of city charter schools denied free space under a crackdown by Mayor De Blasio, according to two sources.

“De Blasio’s anti-rich policies are driving wealthy people out of NYC,” NY Post, March 4, 2014

Money — it’s the root of all evil. Behind every great fortune lies a great crime. Or at least an unfair advantage.

That’s the gist of the liberals’ creed and justification for their war on wealth. The other half of their view holds that the poor are innocent victims of life’s rigged game.

Their narrative of evil winners and noble losers clears the way for self-heroic redeemers. They will deliver social justice by meting out punishment and spreading the wealth around. Their virtue entitles them to power.

It sounds like a comic-book view of life, but it’s the reality of liberalism today. And thanks to the de Blasio administration, New Yorkers are getting a bitter taste of its divisive nature. So much so that talk about quitting Gotham is surging in some circles.

One friend says 10 wealthy people have told him they are leaving and another says disgusted New Yorkers bought $1 billion in residential property in Florida since the November election. The Sunshine State confers an automatic tax cut of about 12 percent because it has no city or state income tax, nor does it have an inheritance tax.

Beyond taxes, the mayor’s open hostility is a factor. His insulting treatment of former Mayor Bloomberg at the inauguration remains a cloud over him. As one affluent woman, a self-described liberal, told me, “De Blasio hates me, so I hate him.” She doesn’t personally know him, but draws her conclusion from his words and deeds.

The central problem is the mayor’s childish view of wealth.
